Why I'm Running

CAPT John “Jack” Carey, USN (Ret.)

I’m running to be our next District Attorney because it takes proven leadership to ensure the safety of the people of the Cape and Islands district.

My wife Grace and I are raising our children on the Cape and have lived here for the better part of ten years. Our children attend school on the Cape, play baseball in Sandwich, belong to the local the YMCA, belong to the Cape Cod Swim Club and take music lessons from local businesses.

Grace is a Vice President of a local regional Cape airline and takes part in several charities. Together we attend Mass as a family and belong to Corpus Christi Parish.

But our roots go much deeper, my family owned a home on the Cape since I was a child, my parents retired to the Cape, and I attended and graduated from Massachusetts Maritime Academy. In addition, Grace and I first met in Hyannis when she was over from Ireland on a J1 visa in 1992.

Cape Cod is our home and I want to offer my experiences and leadership that I gained from my Naval career and years as a litigator in the Massachusetts courts to ensure the laws are enforced and we keep the Cape and Islands, our home, safe for our families and for our children.

That is why I am running for District Attorney.

Let’s Keep Cape Cod Safe!
